Network Engineer – Core Networks 

Job Summary: 

Responsible for technical implementations falling under the scope of his/her technical expertise, in addition to offering support on all technical escalations related to executed projects or company’s SLAs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for ensuring that all engagements are met in terms of project execution and in accordance to project scope
• Ensure proper documentation and/or updates of projects or incidents with respect to company tools.
• Coordinating with MS team on escalations. 
• Resolves issues in a timely fashion. 
• Willing to follow specialized training to further advance in his/her career. 
• Responsible for installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting and/or Network solution designing of Cisco routers and switches.

Prerequisite: 

• BS in computer/network/communications/ engineering. 
• Cisco certification is desirable : CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
• SP IP and Optical Network experience 
• 4+ years of experience 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Teamplayer 

Special skills required from Network Engineer – Core 

• Must possess a strong knowledge and expertise of the below Cisco products and technologies (Compulsory)
  • NCS 2000 Optical nodes, NCS 5500 Routers, ASR 9000 routers, NCS 540/560 Routers, ASR 900 Routers, Nexus 9000 Switches, Catalyst 6500/6800 switches, ASR 1000 Routers, ISR 4000 routers, Enterprise switches, IOS XR, IOS XE
  • L3 Technologies : DWDM, IPoDWDM, BGP, MP-BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IP/MPLS, Segment Routing, QOS, Traffic engineering, Multicast, Layer 2/3 VPNs, IPv6, EIGRP, DMVPN, ACI, DCI, OTV, LISP
  • L2 Technologies: LAN Switching, Layer 2 WAN, Metro Ethernet services, EVPN, VPLS, VPWS, VPRN on a hybrid network consisting of Cisco and competitive platforms.
• Must have hands-on experience in installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting and/or Network solution designing of SP grade Cisco routers and switches (Compulsory)
• Prior experience of conducting customer workshops, High level and Low level network design experience would be highly preferred. (Compulsory)
• EPNM knowledge is highly preferred.
• Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting on any of the below multi vendor products would be a strong asset (highly desirable):
  • Huawei NE Routers / OSN
  • Alcatel SR
  • Nokia PSE / PSS
  • Juniper MX / PTX
  • Coriant mTERA UTP, hiT 7300, 7100 POT
  • Infinera DTN, DTN-x
  • Ciena Converged Packet Optical 6500 / Packet Networking 8700
• Scripting knowledge on Python, Pearl would be highly desirable.
• Automation knowledge such as NSO, WAE, XTC, SR PCE, Cisco Crossworks or multi vendor SDN platforms is highly desirable.
